| Fleet Revitalization Project
Fleet Manager, Jerry Hopson, is undertaking a fleet revitalization project for the FSX aircraft downloads. As you may know, many of the aircraft available for download in the virtual aviation industry were designed for FS2004 and modified to work in FSX. Developers have simply been behind in creating new aircraft using the new FSX software developer's kit. This is by no means a criticism on their part, it is due to the rather fast evolving SDK. As developers master the new requirements placed on them by FSX, more planes are being developed. We see this largely in the payware market where companies are charging $60.00+ for their hard work which leaves fewer freeware developers in the hobby. For that reason, Air Florida Virtual Airlines encourages you to support freeware developers. The fleet revitalization project begins with a repaint of the FSX default 737-800 which is scheduled to be completed by the end of November. This aircraft was recently purchased from an undisclosed airline that is transitioning to a larger line of wide-body aircraft. Soon it will take to the skies again with the Air Florida Virtual Airline colors.
On November 1, 2008 Air Florida Virtual
Airlines obtained a 747-400 which is currently undergoing renovations. It
too is scheduled for completion at the end of November or the first week
of December.
The third aircraft to undergo revitalization is the A-321. As you can see from the picture and the progress bar below, the aircraft is nearing completion.
