Welcome to the Miami Hub

As a new pilot for the Miami Hub, it is vital that you read the handbook that can be found online via this website.  Once you apply, you will receive a email from myself explaining what it takes to be a pilot for the Miami Hub.  It is important the you reply to this email and answer the specific questions that will be included in the email.  Once your reply email has been received and the answers have been reviewed, I will then add you to the pilot roster.  Once your name is listed on the roster you are officially a pilot for the Miami hub.

Two Week Probation

Now that you have been added to the roster.  You are considered to be a pilot on probation.  You have two weeks to complete at least 1 PIREP.  As a pilot on probation you are authorized to pilot one of three aircraft.  The SAAB-340, BC1900-D and/or the Island Hopper.  Choose all or one of the aircraft and download the zip file from the fleet page.  Remember where you downloaded this file, unzip the file, install the aircraft and/or copy/move the file to your FSX Sim Objects Airplanes folder.   Next visit the Flight Schedule link from the Miami start page and choose a flight that is listed for the aircraft you are choosing to start with.   Then start up your Flight Simulator and create the flight route you choose and fly it.  Most importantly - HAVE FUN WHILE FLYING THE ROUTE.  Once you completed the route, return to the Miami home page and choose the Flight Report Link.  Fill in the blanks and make sure you are using the correct Pilot Number you were assigned when added to the Pilot Roster.  Feel free to add comments to the report such as - great flight - delayed during snow storm, etc...  Hit submit at the end and then with-in a few hours/days your Pilot information on the Roaster Page will be updated.

Promotions / Flying bigger Aircraft / EOM Awards

As a pilot for Air Florida, we require each pilot to submit at least 1 PIREP per month after the initial two week probation period has been completed.  As a pilot for the Miami Hub, I would hope that Miami's pilots would submit at least 2 PIREP's per month.  As you will understand once you read the Handbook, promotions and aircraft come with flight hours.  The more hours you submit the faster you move up in rank and skill.  Anyone who completes Steve's Flight school will move quicker up the ranks and skill level. We also like to award a EOM - Employee of the Month - award to the pilot who submits the most flight hours each month.
